Don H. Staheli, former personal secretary to LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley, will speak Thurs., Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. in 250 SWKT as part of the College Honored Alumni Lecture Series. His lecture is titled, “It’s the Principle of the Thing.”

Staheli graduated from Brigham Young University in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He went on to obtain a master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in 1978 and to obtain a Master of Social Work in 1985 from BYU. Staheli wrote a best-selling children’s book, The Story of the Walnut Tree, in 2005, worked for LDS Family Services for 15 years, served as an officer in the United States Air force and has served in numerous capacities for the LDS Church.

As part of Homecoming 2011, Staheli and nine other BYU graduates were honored with a College Alumni award. All award recipients will present college lectures during homecoming week.
