As a Geography major, no matter which track you take, thousand of opportunities await you upon graduation. Each specific track page will offer more detailed information but you will likely find most of what you need here. The following is a list of links that will give you tons of info, from internships to career fairs, from potential employers to "just what is geography anyway?"

The best general info covering all areas can be found at the American Association of Geographers. This is a must see! It includes fields of geography, internship and career guide, even network lists if you want to contact someone in the field outside of academia!

Another fantastic resource with loads of links and connections to employers and opportunities is the American Planning Association's Career and Education Guide. But you have to browse the rest of their site to get the whole gambit of what is really there, TONS!!

Perhaps the most user-friendly site with constantly updated info, career trends, needs, job and internship postings, links to real companies, plus an easy to use direction finder is Directions Magazine's web site. This site will help you know exactly what is available!

GOOD IDEA #1! Check with the Geography Department's internship director. He/she can line you up with alumni in the field, recommend the best internship for you, and generally let you know what's out there.
